Synergy Ohio Summer Internship Program

Is it for me?

Have you considered vocational ministry, but not sure if it is truly God’s calling on your life? Are you interested in church ministry, but don’t know where you want to serve? Have you wanted to serve the Lord in a church, but want to be something other than a pastor? Are you in school right now in order to be a pastor, counselor, children’s director, etc., but want practical experience and networking?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then the Synergy Ohio Summer Internship might be for you!

Core questions:

Who? An intern may be in high school, college, or grad school.

What? The Synergy internship will give you the opportunity to explore the opportunities of vocational ministry, discern God’s calling on their lives, and gain practical, hands-on ministry experience in a flexible, personalized track.

Where? Please see the list above of Synergy Ohio West churches.

When? The exact dates will depend on the year, but the internship will take place from approximately June 1st to July 31st for 25 hours/week. However, this time frame is flexible depending on the intern’s prior commitments to school, short-term mission trips, etc.

Why? The Synergy internship is designed for those who want to explore whether God is calling them into vocational ministry and the different possibilities within church ministry. We will help you discern God’s calling and your own unique God-given gifts all while giving you practical work experience.

How? Every intern will participate in a core experience that includes training in practical theology, mentorship, small group study, and fellowship with other Synergy Ohio interns and residents. In addition, interns will choose one or more of the following tracks to personalize their opportunities. Possible ministry tracks for you to choose from include Administrative, Children’s, Creative, Biblical Counseling, Facilities, Pastoral, Tech, Worship, and Youth!
