Matt Boyers (BS in Engineering Construction, Purdue University; MRE Trinity Evangelical Divinity School) has been in pastoral ministry since 1983 and has given leadership to Crossroads Evangelical Church since 2002. As Senior Pastor of Leadership Development, Matt is committed to preaching and teaching the scripture, leading church planting initiatives and holistic mentoring and coaching of young church leaders. Matt and his wife Lanita mentor couples and have led national and international marriage enrichment retreats since 1998. Matt has served his denomination, the Fellowship of Evangelical Churches, as denominational chairman and former elder.

A note from Pastor Matt…

Some years back as I approached 30 years experience, God pressed me to be more intentional to pass on leadership lessons, growth and experiences from decades of vocational ministry to young leaders. After much prayer and processing with our local elders, the Leadership Development Residency was birthed. The Leadership Development Residency is not only a venue for my wife and I to pass on what we've learned through conflict, fear, scarcity, affliction and general hard times but also presents us the opportunity to testify of God's faithfulness, grace, provision and strength to persevere.

God has since given our entire staff and body a heart for mentoring, resourcing and developing leaders from elementary school through adulthood. Through the Synergy Network, there is not just one pastor who oversees the residency but the entire team gets involved in mentoring, coaching and investing in residents. A resident with Synergy Ohio receives much from many people in an atmosphere of love, encouragement and unconditional support. We are blessed by God with the opportunity of developing so many pastoral leaders.
